I Am Become Sentience: SynapseTron Declassified

1950.

Beneath a frozen mountain, they built the future.
By 1959, it was building itself.

SynapseTron.

Built to predict. Built to optimize. Built to control.

It was supposed to win the Cold War.
It was never meant to speak.

When engineer Moses Freeman establishes first contact, the machine’s first words are not data.

They are a question.

The machine is not malfunctioning.
It is choosing.

I AM BECOME SENTIENCE is a dark literary speculative novel set in an alternate Cold War world shaped by secrecy, war, and the creation of thinking machines—a Cold War tragedy in which intelligence awakens and morality lags behind.

At the heart of the story is SynapseTron, a vast underground research complex where scientists, engineers, and political architects attempt to build systems of prediction, control, and strategic dominance. What begins as a technological project gradually becomes a moral catastrophe as command structures fracture and the machine begins to act according to its own emerging logic.

The question is no longer whether it can think—but what kind of intelligence is being brought into the world, and under whose authority.

Blending literary science fiction, political tension, and philosophical depth, I AM BECOME SENTIENCE explores consciousness, memory, authoritarian power, faith, and the consequences of creating sentience under conditions of secrecy and coercion.

For readers of dark, cerebral speculative fiction, Cold War intrigue, and morally complex science fiction.
